Hydraulic Adhesion Tester

This hydraulic pull-off type tester is fitted with a flexible hose, so that test can be performed on difficult to reach area, e.g. internal or external pipe surfaces. A dolly is cemented onto the test surface and after curing pulled-off by rotating the instrument handle. The test force is displayed on the dial scale, from 0 to 25 Mpa / 0-3500 pSi (0-250 bar).

Cross Hatch Cutter


The ‘Cross Hatch’ test is widely used in various forms to assess adhesion of paint coatings. This cutter has advantages over single cutting blades for both safety and simplicity in use, available with 1, 2 or 3mm spaces between cutting edges.

Cupping Tester

Tests the extensibility and adhesive qualities of laquers, paints and other protective coatings applied to a metal substrate.

A 20mm diameter steel ball punch is applied under pressure to the uncoated side of the test panel. Concentric with the punch on the coated side of the panel is a corresponding die.

As the test panel is deformed the coated surface is kept under observation and the point at which the coating cracks or becomes detached from the substrate is noted.
