Sheen-Opac

Using a standard colorimetric optical geometry this instrument measures opacity (hiding power) and whiteness. It is ideal for simple shade sorting tasks e.g. for ceramics or anodised aluminium, where 100 units equals a perfectly white surface and zero equals a completely black surface.
Features
Conforms to BS 3900 D6/D7, ISO 6504, 3906, DIN 55984
45°/0° geometry illuminant C light source
Digital calibration, large LCD display
Measures the luminous reflectance of surfaces, including metallised films

Black and White Cryptometer

Simple and rapid test method to determine opacity in terms of hiding and spreading powers. Used both for production and quality control purposes. The Cryptometer is called for in product specifications and test methods which accept the limitation that the wet film and not the dry coating has been measured.

Hiding Power Charts

Our hiding power charts meet the requirements of most popular tests used to determine or compare hiding power and contrast ratios of pigmented coating materials such as paint, emulsions and inks.
Our charts are UV cured and their lacquer is solvent resistant. They are suitable for use with most organic, water based or solvent borne coatings.
