FIBRO's DAT 500/1100 allows detailed, automatic analysis at full video speed of the interaction between a liquid droplet and a specimen surface. The device provides data including the rate of change of the contact angle, volume and spreading calculated as a function of time.

Contact angle measurements can be used as a tool for understanding the wetting between a liquid droplet and a substrate. The original FIBRO DAT concept offers a range of integrated instruments, for research as well as quality control. These instruments enable detailed automatic analysis at full video speed of the interaction between a liquid droplet and a specimen surface. The time-dependent wetting and sorption response correlates to many experienced production problems in surface coating and sizing, printing and adhesion.

Pocket Goniometer Contact Angle Tester

The Pocket Goniometer measures static contact angle and dynamic surface hysteresis for applications related to gluing, printing and surface related problems.

PG-1 - PG-1 is a battery-operated instrument for manual measurements of static contact angles at 'equilibrium'. This instrument is ideal for the introduction of contact angles at an unbeatable price.

PG-2 - PG-2 is an automated instrument for measurements of static and dynamic contact angles even on absorbent materials like paper. The built-in camera captures a video sequence of the liquid droplet applied on the surface to measure contact angle (wetting), volume (absorption) and base width (spreading) of the droplet as a function of time. Connects to a standard laptop or PC with a USB port, which will also supply power to the instrument.

PG-3 - PG-3 is an automated instrument for measurements of static and dynamic contact angles similar to the model PG-2. In addition, the PG-3 model has an integrated micro-pump, which can deliver accurate droplets in 0,5 µl steps.

PGX Contact Angle Tester

The PG-X is a compact, video-based instrument that measures the wetting and absorption of virtually any size or shape surface without the need to prepare sample strips. Eliminating the need to cut your material makes it ideal for any product that is difficult to cut such as rigid components, drywall board, glass or the inside of a container. It also performs nondestructive testing so can be used on expensive materials without damage.

Testing with the PGX is effortless. Simply place the unit on top of the sample and press the PUMP button. The instrument automatically pumps out a droplet, captures the liquid/substrate interaction and graphs the results.
